I am selling a pair of violins that I have used for performing throughout the last decade. They are both set up and ready to play and both have professionally mounted L.R. Baggs bridge pickups installed. I have used both fiddles in playing Bluegrass, Old-time and Cajun fiddle music with a variety of bands. Both have done very well and the Baggs pickups work well for settings where a microphone is not feasible.
Violin #1 (Brown): My luthier believes this to be a mid-1800s German Stainer copy. Typical high-arching of the Stainer pattern. Grafted scroll. The setup and LR Baggs install was done by Randy Debay of Portland OR. Currently set up with Prim Heavy strings.
Violin #2 (Blonde): This violin is stamped "American Star Violin Manufactory, Albert & Merke, Philadelphia". This is thought to have been made around 1900. The setup and pickup installation were done by Brian Christianson in Nashville, TN. Currently set up with Helicore Medium strings.
This auction will include the brand new double violin case from West Coast Strings that is in the photos.
I have nearly $5,000 invested this package. My loss is your gain.
