I have finally settled on a nice French 4 string fiddle along with a Lowendall 4 string with ISI pickup system as my forever fiddles (my wife does not believe it!) and decided it's time to end my flirtation with the 5 string fiddle. This advert is for my Charlie Kennedy 5 string with and ISI pickup/mic designed and installed by fellow Ithacan and friend Eric Aceto. I think it sounds, plays and looks great. Its back and sides are carved from Arizona mesquite (better known for smoking BBQ). The neck is narrower than most 5 strings and well-suited for smaller hands. For me it was a relatively affordable way to explore this enticing sonic world, but I never play it and have a Yamaha YEV 105 5 string electric violin (a pandemic purchase) that I can play with if I need that low C string fix (I would consider bundling and selling I suppose). More photos are available and I could send a sound clip or video. I would prefer a local or regional sale if at all possible. Asking $2,450 and would also include the K&K mic-pickup blender I purchased from ISI.
