A beautiful German genuine pernambuco violin bow from the Dörfler Bogen Bow Company in Bubenreuth, Germany. This firm has been in business since 1940, and is one of Germany's best bow-making workshops known for quality, value and craftsmanship.

This full-size bow is model 15A. It is fine octagonal stick with made from 30-year-old pernambuco wood from Brazil. The stick is stamped “W. Dörfler.” The nickel-mounted frog is made with fine black ebony with mother-of-pearl eyes. The head is beautifully carved with crisp chamfers reminiscent of great H.R. Pfretzschner bows. It is in very good condition with the winding showing some wear, and some tiny chipping in the rear corners of the frog (see pictures).
The weight is 59g. The end-to-end length is 74.5 cm (29.3 inches).
The bow is straight and strong, well-cambered and balanced, and draws a lovely strong tone from my fiddles. It was recently re-haired.
