This is one of three violins I bought as practice varnishing violins for a varnishing and varnish making workshop in 2010. It’s most likely a Chinese violin, but it was sold simply as a “varnish practice instrument,” which means it was made with plain wood without much figure (the prettiness of the wood dictates prices in factories). I stripped it after the workshop and revarnished it with a spirit varnish of my own making. It’s all set for a player who wants a good sounding instrument at an economical price. It has rosewood fittings and a professional setup and revoicing by Maxham Violins.
The violin will come in a GEWA Aspirante case unless a different case is desired. Bows are also available in my other listings or upon request.
