Having recently purchased a higher end instrument from luthier Royce Burt, I now have for Sale this quite decent 7/8 "Ladies Violin" it has been my pleasure to own and use for the past ten years while honing my dubious skills.
I know from experience that good quality 7/8 "Ladies" violins are quite hard to come by. Mine was crafted in 2002 by Stephen Perry, a luthier of reknown in Tennessee, and the proprietor of Gianna Violins. It is an "Artista" Model 200, No. 14, and I paid $750 for it ten years ago. It is NOT some cheap Chinese pretender: I think it is comparable to Scott Cao violins selling for around $1,200 today. It is undamaged other than some varnish scrapes and it stays in tune nicely. It has rosewood pegs and tail, and fine tuners, and is presently outfitted with expensive Evah Pirazzi strings. I considered keeping it for a spare, but it is too nice to just sit in the closet unused. It needs to be played and would be an excellent choice for a serious student not quite big enough for a 4/4. I am asking $600 for it.
Please note attached pictures.
Note: price includes two clean chin rests, serviceable used case, but not bow or shoulder rest.
