This violin looks more recent than the boatloads of violins imported from Europe peaking between 1880 - 1930. The generic Strad label does not give a country of origin but I would guess it is German. It is in excellent condition, fresh from a total overhaul with new Parisian eye ebony fittings, bridge, and soundpost. The construction inside and out is high quality. There is a solidly repaired center seam separation under the tailpiece and another repaired crack under the fingerboard. Neither are easily visible and do not detract from the violin's appearance or tone (both cracks are cleated on the inside) I regraduated and rebarred the fiddle when I had it open for the repairs and it sounds great.
If you are looking for a smooth, toneful fiddle that likes double stops, this fits the bill.. Note that the fiddle now is strung with Helicores and a Wittner fine tuner tailpiece. Really a great fiddle. I have quite a few fiddles so it wouldn't hurt to send an email if you are looking for something specific.
