Both of these violins are from his respected Baltimore studio. 1944 A very fine Nicholas Vasich violin with a rich, robust voice and fine E string. His luscious reddish brown varnish with the relief carving of his name on the back. 2 piece back with great flame maple. In very good condition. 2 repaired/cleated saddle cracks. LOB 357 mm. Rosewood fittings, new bridge, post, and set-up with Dominants with silver D and a Pirastro gold label E string. Useable oblong HSC. 1955 A very fine sounding Nicholas Vasich violin. A rich amber/brown varnish with the relief carving of his name on the back. Gorgeous 1 piece back. Very good condition. Voice is very strong and clear, well balanced, currently has Dominants with a silver D on it. The away voice sounds a bit warmer and darker than the strong under ear voice. Recently professionally set up with a quality new bridge, new post, fingerboard was lightly planed, general cleaning. There is an old 7.5 cm treble saddle crack which was properly repaired and cleated. LOB is 355 mm. Included is a very solid and nice American Case Company oblong case, likely the original case, which is in very good condition. A little wear to one lower edge, a bit of the case skin is loose at the butt end, hinges and latches work fine. No musty smells. $4,950 for either one, might consider a very solid offer. No trades.
