This is a beautiful genuine Ernst Heinrich Roth violin made in Germany in 1925. It is in excellent condition, and is a wonderful instrument to play. The Roth violins from the 1920s are the most highly desired violins from this celebrated maker. I sent detailed pictures to Wilhelm Roth in Germany who confirmed that is 120-R model. He provided a signed Instrument Confirmation Certificate confirming that this is genuine Ernst Heinrich Roth Violin from the year 1925. The original signed Instrument Confirmation Certificate is included in the sale. This instrument is described in the 1924 Roth catalog as follows:

“This violin is patterned after a genuine Stradivarius, period about 1700, which marks the beginning of the height of the career of the celebrated maker. The body in the white is made by the talented son and able assistant, Albert Roth, who has thoroughly learned the art of violin making from his father. The wood is well chosen and the execution throughout of the best. In outline, this instrument is very graceful and harmonious. The varnish is of a transparent brown, highly polished and shaded in the center. The orchestra player will find it well suited for his purpose. This instrument is made both in single and double piece back and its label reads as follows: "Copy of Antonius Stradivarius, made under the supervision of Ernst Heinrich Roth.”

The violin sings with a beautiful and full tone. It has a strong resonant voice on the lower strings, and a silvery soprano voice on the higher strings. There are lots of colors to play with. The sound is clean and full all the way up the neck. It has excellent bow response, plenty of volume, and does not lose timbre when played softly. Message me and tell me what kind of music you play, and I will make you a custom sound sample. The violin is in excellent playing condition. It was completely checked out by a professional luthier, and was fitted with a new bridge and sound post. There was a small hardly-noticable crack above the saddle underneath the tailpiece, and it was professionally closed and glued. The original varnish is in excellent condtion. The pegs all turn easily and hold well, and it is fitted with fresh Tonica strings. The measurements are perfect: Length of back: 356mm Length of Neck: 130mm Body stop: 195mm String Length: 329mm Genuine Ernst Heinrich Roth violins from the 1920’s have been skyrocketing in value in the last few years. This violin is in excellent condition, and will undoubtedly continue to rise in value as excellent examples of these instruments become more and more desirable. The violin comes with a good well-padded case. Please study the pictures closely as they are the most important part of the description. Please ask me any questions before you buy. I can send you additional pictures if you would like. I have included detailed un-retouched pictures and described it as best that I can. The violin, certificate, and case, will be superbly packed for shipping. Sales to the continental United States only, please.
