Here we have two interesting old German fiddles. Fiddle #1 label just says "copy of Antonius Stradivarius made in Germany". I would guess 20's or 30's. Proper internal construction with neck block. Repairs recently done by me (an amateur but experienced) include re-glueing seam separations, new bridge, soundpost, tailpiece, chinrest, and ebony pegs. Set up with Tonica strings. Lovely middle of the road tone, not too bright or dark, midrange-y. Ships in modern foam dart shaped case. No bow included.
Fiddle #2 is a German "trade fiddle". Label says "Antonius Stradivarius Faceibat Anno 1711". "1711" is possibly code for 1911. Original owner says instrument originally purchased in 1913. It has the one piece "Spanish" neck block with inset ribs and a carved in bass bar. Repairs I did include new bridge (cut low to compensate for low neck angle), new sound post, boxwood chin rest and tailpiece. Pegs are original and functional. Set up with Vision strings. Ships in original shaped case with new replacement handle. Case is functional but a little rough and not terribly protective. Cool looking though if you want the complete old timey package. Sound is a tiny bit on the dark side but rich full and sweet. No bow oncluded.
Your choice $250 each shipped to continental USA. No returns. What you see is what you get. Priced low to go!
