This fiddle came to us from the children of the late builder CW Reed. This is one of the last remaining fiddles Mr. Reed had left that he built. This fiddle was built in 1977 with a very unique body shape and a solid spruce top and maple back/sides. The body is a very deep bowl like top and back. The fiddle seems to have been played in the past but doesn’t have any fingerboard marks from finger wear. Another unique feature is the bone saddle Mr. Reed used on the instrument. No cracks or repairs can be found and has no signs of neck problems. Overall this is a great old-time or bluegrass fiddle and something you won’t find anywhere else.
