This violin was made in 1987 by award winning luthier, Dennis Alexander of Alymer, Québèc in the Ottawa Valley. Many fine Canadian fiddlers have owned Alexander violins including, Pierre Schryer, Denis Lanctôt, Daniel Lapp, and a number of other wonderful players. I purchased it in 1998 in Ottawa from my mentor, the late great Leo Browne who was originally from County Tyrone. It has been my primary violin until recently when I chose to purchase another locally made instrument here in Bloomington.
This fiddle is in excellent playing and physical condition. It has an exceptionally warm tone and excellent response. It also comes with a French Bois d'Harmonie rosewood tailpiece plus a carbon fibre tail gut. I will offer a 3 day trial period. Return shipping will be paid by buyer.
