Here is a great sounding and playing German violin with a Joseph Guarnerius IHS label that was most likely made between 1890 and 1920. In addition to the normal wear it has accumulated, it was antiqued by its makers to make it look older - it also has a fake scroll graft. Quality construction in and out with fluted f-holes. The violin was completely overhauled and fitted with new pegs, ebony fittings, soundpost, bridge, and new Dominant strings and I am very pleased with the result.
Condition: No cracks nor repairs. Some edge wear and varnish distress are the only (minor) issues). The tone is robust, full, and clear, leaning slightly towards the dark end of tonal spectrum. The violin responds easily.
$1250 plus expenses. Comes with a vintage case, no bow. 48 hour trial period
