- Labeled "D. Nicolaus Amati Fecit Bononiae 1731" inside
**I make NO claims about the provenance of this instrument. This is simply what the label inside reads.**
- Top is 2 piece spruce with a very fine grain
- Back is 2 pieces plain maple matching the sides and neck
- Neck has been replaced and grafted to the original pegbox
- Bushed peg box
- Upper Bout 15.9cm, Middle Bout 10.8cm, Lower Bout 19.7cm, Body Length 35.7cm
- Rosewood fittings with mother of pearl dot on D, A, E pegs and endpin
- Rosewood Guarneri style chinrest
- Tailpiece bridge is new
- New bass bar
- Varnish was re-done in recent years and is dark brown in color
- Restored prior to my owning it
- There are top plate cracks that have been repaired and are not open, please see the photos
- Looked at by a professional luthier January 2017
- Comes with Evah Pirazzi medium G, D, A and Jargar forte E strings
- Comes with an old violin bow

Sound Qualities:
I am a professional violinist and I have played this violin for about 1 year. I have played it at auditions and contests it has served me well; many have commented that it is beautiful looking and sounding. I would describe the sound as very rich and sonorous. I am selling it because it is a fine violin that deserves to be played and I recently upgraded violins and no longer am playing it. If you would like sound files I am willing to make a recording/video and send it to you -- please contact me to arrange this.
Shipping and Packaging:
Shipping to the USA only. The violin will be carefully packed. I will put the bridge down, tighten the strings so the post does not fall, wrap the violin in a soft cloth, and put it into a simple, bullet style case. The case will then be placed into a box and packed so that it is suspended in the middle of the box with lots of padding on all 6 sides. It will be shipped USPS with insurance for the purchase price, tracking, and will require a signature upon delivery. I will share tracking information with you and monitor tracking to watch for delivery signature confirmation. You will need to set up the bridge and tighten the strings at home upon arrival.

Please, serious inquiries only. The price is based on excellent condition, age, sound, feedback from several sources, and similar violins offered for sale online and in shops. Please just contact me with your questions prior to purchasing and I will be happy to answer so that the need for a return is not necessary. If you decide you want a return, returns are accepted within 7 days (according to USPS tracking and delivery confirmation) of you receiving the violin. Please contact me within 7 days to arrange a return. You will have to pay return shipping including tracking and insurance. Violin must arrive to me in the same condition that I sent it to you and then I will issue a refund. I strive to be upfront about all.
