This is a rare high end American shop made violin from Ft. Worth, TX 1995 that was revoiced by renowned maker John Silakowski in late November/early December of 2018. The result is a gorgeous instrument with excellent feel and playability. The tone is very powerful, very balanced, round and open. I have 2 bridges, one Superior despiau bridge and one Aubert deluxe. The Aubert deluxe is very low/fast action and produces a HUGE tone. The Superior is just a hair more mellow toned, and has not as low action. I prefer the auber but will include both. Also has Glasser carbon fiber tailpiece, and dominant strings with gold label E.
This violin was originally appraised at 5k in 1995, and with the revoice and quality woods, it is on par with John's benchmade instruments in the 8-10k range, but with a little more brightness and punch due to the tonewoods and Italian style varnishing on this instrument. Whoever gets this fiddle is going to be very happy. It makes a fine instrument for someone who plays both classical and fiddle, and that is what John was going for with his revoice strategy on this particular fiddle.
Price is much less than what I have invested in this instrument(over 4k). You won't find more fiddle for this price. I will ship well packed in a lightweight shaped case. Also will include a great playing pernambuco bow stamped A.Q. Shen.
Attached is a short basic video sample to get an idea of the tone. It will continue to up in tone as it is played regularly. I play on it daily.
Only selling due to unexpected medical bills.
Thanks for looking!
