For Sale: 2017 Royce Burt Withlacoochee Guarnieri Model - $1,200 USD
2017 Royce Burt Withlacoochee Guarnieri fiddle for sale. I purchased this fiddle new from Royce in November 2016. I haven't played it much as I am mostly a mandolin and guitar player. It is virtually new. This fiddle came new distressed to look old. Its sound is dark and rich. Please see attached video of Royce playing a sound sample. Royce builds great fiddles and has many positive reviews.
I paid $1500 for the fiddle. I am including a Codabow (prodigy model) which I purchased from Johnson Strings for $300 and a Johnson Strings violin case worth $200. I'd like to get $1200 for the set up.

For Sale: Francois Guillmont Violin 1890-1900 (E.R. Schmidt) with Powerful, Dark Tone - $1,150 USD
This is a Francois Guillmont Aix-la-Chapelle violin. Despite the French name, it is fairly common knowledge that this was a top-level brand made by the Ernst Reinhold Schmidt workshop in Germany. E. R. Schmidt was one of the internationally successful companies that influenced Markneukirchen violin making at its zenith. This is the second Guillmont I have owned, and it is of reliably high quality craftsmanship.
It is a full-sized violin, measuring about 23 3/4" in length, 14" for the body, 6 1/2" on the upper bout, and 8" on the lower. The soundboard is made of narrow-grained spruce, varnished in a burgundy brown hue, with minor saddle and upper bout cracks that were all professionally repaired long ago and are rock solid. There are no soundpost or bass bar cracks. The back is a single piece of attractively flamed maple. The violin was fitted with new pegs, tailpiece, and chinrest, and sports new D'Addario Helicore strings. In addition to the Guillmont label, there is a service sticker inside that says: Rebuilt by E. J. Bonner April 23, 1933 Modesto Cal.
This brand of fiddle has gained fame over the years by virtue of its having been played by several professional musicians, but among the most notable is Ron Stewart, renowned bluegrass fiddler, banjoist, and mandolinist. The tone practically jumps out of the body, with a strong, dark, woody bottom end and a powerful, yet sweet upper register. It will be heard in a jam setting and the action makes it a pleasure to play. It is ideal for traditional genres like bluegrass, old-time, country, and western swing, but not limited in its appeal. It will not disappoint.

For Sale: Estate violin Albert Masterman - $15,000 USD
Husband was professional classical symphony violinist and fiddle player. When he was a youngster in the mid- 1950’s studying with John Coppin of the LA Phil, Albert Masterman was the luthier who rehaired their bows. Many years later he ran across one of Mr. Masterman’s violins and traded a fine collection of bows for it. He tried many times to acquire a history of Mr. Masterson and his works, but never succeeded.
Described as a fine American violin in Guarneri style, with mixed Italian, French, and German influence, labeled “Made by A. Masterman, Los Angeles, Calif. 1937”. Made of two pieces beautifully flamed maple back, rib, neck, and evenly grained spruce top, artistically applied brown varnish. Has very few scratches, is in very good condition. It produces a rich, even, and powerful sound.

Very good, loud and projecting Francesco Ruggieri labelled violin with second label "Collection Joh. Stuber Den Haag". The instrument is in a very good condition and probably around 50-100 years old. Violinmaker Uli Schnorr has fitted a new fingerboard, pegs and bass-bar around 1999. Perfect intonation, and has been selected for studio recordings by technicians for it's clear well balanced sound.
A trained classical violinist played it occasionally and got a superb loud and projecting sound out of this instrument.

Violin will be shipped in a quality case without bow. A matching bow can be included at extra costs when needed. For Sale: *Price Reduced!* John Jordan 7 String Flamed Limba violin - $2600 - $2,600 USD
For sale is my John Jordan 7 string electric violin. It is made from flamed Limba or Korina (same wood used on Gibson Flying V's and Explorers). I purchased this violin directly from John in 2007 and it has served me very well, but between playing my acoustic almost exclusively and bills needing paid, it may be time for someone else to give it the attention it deserves. My ebay username is 2010dbmusic if you want to check my user score; I just wanted to try here first as I'd rather support the forum.
It is in perfect working order and comes with the customized hard case it came with from John (no bow however). A careless soundman knocked it off of its stand in its first year, which cracked the lower bout and left a 1/2 cm chip in the bass side on the back, but these do not affect the function or playability at all.
To order a violin like this direct from John now would cost $4100 before any tax or shipping, and I will include an extra F and Bb string ($60 value at electricviolinshop), so you can save $1500 here! Shipping method will be negotiated with the buyer and charged based on location and method. Very very very reasonable offers may be accepted.

Upgraded with rosewood tailpiece and chinrest and planetary geared pegs for easy tuning. The heart at the back of the scroll is the luthiers trademark signature and shows they are all made painstakingly with love. This was my main bluegrass instrument for many years. For Sale: A Fine and Interesting Old American Violin by Oscar Davis c. 1940, Bow, New Case - $1,299 USD
Here is your chance to own a unique American beauty!
This full-size violin was made by Oscar Davis in Stewart, Ohio in 1940, and bears his original handwritten label. It is a fascinating violin. According to his grand niece, Oscar Davis was a well-known Ohio fiddle player as well as an engineer and violin-maker. I am quite certain that this is a fiddle made for playing fiddle music. This is a perfect violin for old-timey, bluegrass, or other traditional music.
The top is made of tightly-grained cedar. The back, ribs, neck, and scroll are carved from highly-flamed mahogany, a tone wood often used in fine guitars. As you can see from the picture, the flame in the mahogany back and ribs is absolutely spectacular!
The scroll is masterfully carved. The grain of the cedar top is tight and straight. The gorgeous one-piece mahogany back is beautifully figured. The arching and f-holes are precisely and expertly carved. This is not a factory-made violin.
The transparent brown varnish is original, and was artistically applied such that the figure and flame of the wood changes with the angle of the light. Both sides are outlined with inlaid white-black-white purfling around the edges. Purfling is usually black-white-black, so this purfling gives the violin a gorgeous and unique appearance!
There are no cracks or repairs in the pegbox, and the pegs turn smoothly and hold well. The fingerboard and fittings are ebony.
I had it completely restored by a top professional luthier including having the bridge and sound post replaced, a small saddle crack repaired, the varnish touched-up, the fingerboard planed and dressed, and a new endpin and tailpiece installed. The repaired saddle crack is the only crack in the entire instrument.
The result is a beautiful, well-preserved, 78 year-old violin in perfect playing condition!
I believe that this violin was made by Oscar Davis specifically for playing traditional American fiddle music, and that is why he selected the unusual tone woods.
The original bridge that came with it (included) was flat on top, a common characteristic of old-timey and bluegrass fiddle bridges. (It was replaced with a more traditional bridge.) The fingerboard width is slightly narrower at the nut, and the neck is slightly thinner than standard classical violins, making double-stops and fast playing much easier. The action is low and comfortable, but without any buzzes up the fingerboard. All this combines to make an outstanding vintage fiddle for playing old-timey, bluegrass or other traditional music.
The tone on this fiddle is lively, bright and full, but not thin, tinny or breathy. It is focused across all 4 strings. The G and D strings are warm without being overly dark while the A and E have soprano voices with bit of edge that cuts very well when playing with guitars and banjos. This fiddle's tone and appearance match up wonderfully for the traditional fiddle music it was built for.
This violin's tone would be fine for classical music, too, but the fingerboard length is approximately 1.5 cm shorter than most classic violins.
The violin comes fitted with fresh Prim strings.
This is a rare opportunity for you to invest in an authentic, one-of-a-kind, vintage American violin from an Ohio maker at an affordable price. Ohio was a major center of American violin making during the pre-war World War II period, and included famous makers such as Rembert Wurlitzer, Robert Glier, and James Reynolds Carlisle. This original violin is a fine example of the Ohio violin-making tradition.
The dimensions are as follows:
Length of Back: 354mm
Upper Bout: 166mm
Center Bout: 116mm
Lower Bout: 203mm
Body stop: 195mm
Over stand: 2mm
Neck width at nut: 22.5mm
Fingerboard length: 256mm
The authentic violin is priced at about one-half the price you could expect to pay if you purchased it from a dealer. Unlike modern factory violins, a rare old violin like this one is an investment that can grow in value over time.
The violin comes in a new high-quality wooden-shell Shar case and a good carbon-fiber bow.
All reasonable offers will be seriously considered.
I have included detailed un-retouched pictures and described the violin as best as I can. The colors are accurately captured in the pictures. I have disclosed any and all defects and repairs that I know about, so you can buy with confidence. Please feel free to ask questions or request additional pictures.

For Sale: 1928 Meinel - $6,600 USD
This beautiful Meinel fiddle / violin was made in Germany in 1928. It's in excellent shape and the finish has only a few light surface scratches, no serious dings or gouges. The middle right bout has some slight bowing wear on the top edge and the bout corners are slightly worn (as is to be expected from an instrument this old). The bridge has been slightly flattened to facilitate folk and bluegrass style fiddling. Otherwise I can find no other flaws in this beautiful instrument. It plays well and has a warm throaty sound.
The label inside reads, "Eugen Meinel 1928, Markneukirchen GERMANY reproduction of Antonius Stradivarius Cremona 1725".
The instrument comes with a bow.
It also comes with a fairly new hardshell case with both handle and carrying strap. Case has a hygrometer. In addition it has a large accessory pocket, brackets for four bows and a cloth cover that lays over the violin (I have the original case, but it is very old and worn).
If you have any questions, please contact me and I will answer as best I can. I am a musician, not a luthier.
I have owned this fiddle since 1979.

For Sale: Not Your Average Chinese Fiddle - $450 USD
Here's the back story...
Over the course of 3-4 years I ordered 10-12 violins from the eBay Chinese folks like yita music and others. If it looked like a decent Guarneri I'd check it out. These are the ones that you see for about $400 or $500 plus shipping and when they arrive you immediately toss the bridge, sound post, strings, bow, case, and maybe the pegs. This was one of those, but the pegs were usable once they were fitted properly. The sound post and bridge were replaced and set up properly. Strings are newer. I've passed the other violins on, but I kept this one as my go-to, around the house, handy for a ten minute practice session fiddle. I firmly believe that this fiddle would sell for well over $1200 in the shop as-is. It is that nice.
I'll include decent black carbon fiber bow, and a GEWA dart case, the one that you can buy online for $100. Nice case, and a great fit!. I need to get $450 plus shipping. I've got twice that in it and it is worth more.
Of course, everyone needs to be happy with the deal, so take seven days to evaluate it and if it doesn't work for you, for any reason, just return it as you got it and you'll only be out the shipping both ways. If you are in Atlanta, you can take it for a spin in person.

For Sale: Nice Czeck fiddle - priced to sell - $289 USD
Full size Czeck fiddle. Copy of Antonius Stradivarius. Bridge set up for fiddle playing. Comes with a molded case and a fiddle bow. Although the finish has a few scratches, this fiddle has no deep gouges, cracks or other broken parts. I do not know what year it is but my guess is 1950's or 1960's; maybe earlier, maybe later. The case is in good shape except is missing its handle. I have owned this fiddle since about 1990. It has a nice tone and medium volume. For the price, it is a steal.

This violin comes with a nice hardshell case (imitation alligator skin) that is in great condition. If you have any questions, please contact me. I will answer your questions as well as I can - I am a musician, not a luthier. :-)

For Sale: Fine Italian Violin Labeled "Augustus Pollastri 1906" - $2,685 USD
I am offering for sale my 4/4 “Pollastri” violin. This is a fine instrument with a clear, fine voice. Just beautiful. I purchased this violin from Jarek Powichrowski, owner of Princeton violins, in 2014. Jarek is a very talented violinist and luthier up in Princeton, NJ. His asking price for this violin was $4500. LOB is 361 mm. The two-piece back is of beautiful tiger maple oriented in a herringbone pattern, and the original finish is wonderful, with one small dime sized area worn through on the back. A very well executed repair is shown in the last photo. You can view Jarek’s demo video of this violin at: youtube.com/watch?v=4yzvjTe23ZM or simply go to youtube and search: “Violin Augustus Pollastri 1906”. There’s only one with that title.
Since obtaining this violin, I had my luthier replace the ebony tuning pegs with geared Wittners. I currently have a set of Evah Pirazzi strings on the violin. I’m offering this violin, as well a as few others, because I have too many. I can offer a nearly new Core 4/4 case for an additional $95. Please feel free to call or email with any questions.

For Sale: Barry Dudley 5-string violin - $3,900 USD
I'm a Danish violinist who's selling my 5-string violin after many years of good use.
I bought the violin in 2011 after visiting Barry Dudleys workshop and trying out the 5-stringed violins he had for sale at that time.
After many good years together, it's time for me to pass the violin on and I hope it will find a new owner.
I'm revisiting US from April 1 - 15 this year and will bring it with me on my travels to Houston, New Orleans and Austin.
After that the violin will be in Houston, Texas, and my friend will keep it and arrange shipment. (Please read shipment details, as I will have to deduce 150 dollars if you want to return it in order to pay him for his time with taking care of it and shipping)
The top is made from spruce and the back is made from an African woodtype called Bubinga.
Please check out Barry Dudleys webpage in order to read more about his work.
The violin is bit bigger than a normal violin while being smaller than a viola, therefore a hybrid.
Please write or comment if you want more details.
Hope to hear from you.
Kindly, Thyge
ps. my price is equivalent to what I payed for it in 2011.
